I fear that is going to be the question in the neighborhood for a couple of days...at least in the "backyard football circle of friends."
Kid Two came running into my room this afternoon, livid in my defense, letting me know his brother is talking about "private things that invovle me." [mild panic...WHAT?!]
Apparently Kid One announced to the "team" out there that I was feeding Kid Three and that's why I couldn't answer the door. He should have left it with that but he proceeded to elaborate. In Kid Two's words, "Mom, he told EVERYONE you feed Kid Three from your BOOBS! I'm so sorry he did that to you." Then he said everyone laughed and that made Kid Two angry. [kind of sweet, isn't it - that he would be so defensive of me...]
Oh well, that's life. Obviously those other kids didn't know that's how the game is played. And I'm beginning to think my boys don't realize I didn't invent this idea. I better have a talk with them.
So be warned, that Mrs. Heinecke is a weird lady when it comes to feeding kids. At least I can rest assured the neighbor kids will never ask for a snack at halftime again!

Typical Tate Answer
Last night the boys spent the evening with my friend. While watching some TV, Lora said to them, "Hey boys, don't watch this commercial..."
Apparently Tate continued to watch. Lovingly, Lora put her hands on his cheeks and half-jokingly/half-seriously said, "What part of don't watch this commercial didn't you get?" To which Tate replied, "Don't."
How typical. At least he was honest. (And still in trouble.)

Life...
Nearly every day I write a blog entry in my head but can't find the time to sit down and type it, despite the fact I can type nearly as fast as I can think!
Life happened...and I had to prioritize my "fun" activities so I could use my 15 minutes of free time wisely.
Thanksgiving weekend Tate broke his foot at the YMCA. That's quite a story itself so let me know if you want the details on that one! It's kept him out of school for two weeks and homebound with me as well. Nick started basketball practice which adds another committment during the week - but that's okay, we just finished football! Jackson violently protests stretching his feedings to 4 hours so that keeps me...well, "busy." And Chad has resumed his travel schedule so I'm solo a few days a week.
Okay, I know everyone is busy - especially this time of year. I've spent a lot of "middle of the night feeding" time thinking about my need to slow down with the people I love. Since Tate has been home we've played a lot of games (even when I didn't want to!), I've listened to Nick's [very] long-winded random stories, and I've just held Jack simply to memorize his face.
The other One for which I've slowed down is Jesus. In the middle of one of the most exciting times in our lives I found myself too busy with all my blessings to spend any time with the Father. Thankfully, he's just as forgiving as kids when you "return to the important."
In this busy season of the year, don't forget to slow down...for your husband, for your kids, for your Redeemer, for your influence on those around you!
