At dinner one evening we were having a family discussion about God and sin. (That is a fairly necessary topic in our house with kids!) The boys were asking questions about why sin is in the world, who made sin and why God puts up with it. We talked for several minutes until the conversation went like this...
Kid Two: So in the beginning, why did God make people He knew were going to sin and cause so much trouble?
Parents: Honey, it's hard to understand all of God's ways. God wants us to love him freely and---
Kid Two: (interrupting) Hmmm, maybe. But I think he was probably just an amateur back when he was getting started with people. Now that he knows what he's doing, it's kind of late. But that's okay, I guess.
And he was serious when he said it.
I'll admit, I have those moments when I think "Does God know what he's doing here?" But without fail, he always proves to be a professional in time. It's good to know we've entrusted our lives to the ONLY One who really knows what He is doing!
Ps. 18:30 - "As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is flawless..."

That's so true! Most of the time mine thought is "What is he waiting on!"
BTW, I know this is stating the obvious to you, but Kid Two is a walking blog resource!
Kids come up with amazing thoughts and questions! There have been some similar thoughts with my 13 and 15 yo boys recently....interesting discussion.
Wow...they sure can challenge us to think!
Now that's pretty funny.
At least he's talking about God, right?
Ahhh, I love that boy. And I'm glad God is a pro!
That is precious.
Kids can really challenge us when it comes to discussions like that.
Once when Jack was little he was eating skittles while we were in the car. He announced that "Jesus was eating his Skittles too". We wondered what he meant by that until we remember that he sort of got the location of his heart and stomach confused at that age. Since Jesus was in his heart (pointing at his stomach) than that means He was getting some Skittles too.
I love kid logic
Amen! The ways of the Lord are perfect...now if I could just follow His ways more perfectly, I'd be golden!
very cute!
